Diversity in the Nonprofit Workplace Workshop on May 23rd

Diversity in the Nonprofit Workplace
Thursday, May 23rd
9:15am - 12:15pm
Jefferson County Library - Humphrey Room
Port Hadlock
Free to Nonprofits

Join the staff of the Mandala Center for Change as we explore diversity and exclusion in the nonprofit workplace. This highly participatory workshop explores how best to create a workplace environment that is inviting and healthy for all people regardless of differences in race, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, ect. Through an anti-oppression lens, we will present concepts of dominant culture, power, privilege, intention vs. impact, equity vs. equality, and more. While some of the workshop content will be informational, much of the time will be supporting participants to engage in honest dialogue on what is often not openly talked about, including what might be getting in the way of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. We will also investigate concrete action steps that can be taken, both on a personal as well as organizational level. As this is truly lifetime work, all levels of experience with diversity related material are welcome.

This workshop is free and designed for nonprofit staff, volunteers, and board. RSVP required. Email Jen (jen@jcfgives.org) for more information or to sign up.
