Remembering Pat Hundhausen

It is with deep gratitude and love that we remember Pat Hundhausen recently. Pat passed away yet her legacy of creating loving communities of people lives on. Years ago, Pat was thinking about how she could spend her final years living in an old-fashioned neighborhood rather than a retirement home. She envisioned building a community where people could age in place with the love and support of their neighbors. Ultimately, Pat’s vision culminated in Quimper Village, a 28-unit, 42-person $10.2 million senior co-housing community that opened in November, 2017. It is the first senior co-housing development in Washington State and has since become a national model.  Pat was also a lifelong devotee of the theater. Last year, Pat and her husband David established the Hundhausen Key City Public Theater Scholarship Fund at Jefferson Community Foundation to support artist apprenticeships. We are honored to steward this part of Pat’s legacy in our community and we send our condolences to all who knew and loved her.
